  1. Welcome to the companion CD-ROM for
  2. Web Developer's Guide to Sound & Music.

  4. Many of the programs on this disk are
  5. available on the Web, but we supplied
  6. this disk to get you started with some
  7. basic fundamental tools and also supply
  8. you with some neat sounds, images, and
  9. clips to use in your own Web site!

  22. Almost all of these programs are
  23. still under construction in some
  24. form or another, so it's always good
  25. to look for upgrades and new releases.
  26. We tried to give you a choice with some
  27. of the helper programs, so that you could
  28. try out different programs and find out
  29. for yourself, which ones work best.

  31. The applications in the \SOFTWARE directory
  32. are shareware, so it is up to you to make
  33. sure that the authors of the program are
  34. compensated if you decide to use their
  35. program on an on going basis. Once again,
  36. check the documentation files that are
  37. related to the application you are using
  38. to find out what the restrictions and
  39. regulations are.

  41. Finally, if you find software on this CD
  42. that is useful to you, you may want to
  43. check and see if there is a newer version
  44. available. Many times, the authors of these
  45. programs will include e-mail and Web site
  46. addresses in the readme or help files. If
  47. you have trouble finding any information
